RAMIZ
ALIZADE
Ramiz is my brother from another mother, and we’ve built a whole lifetime of stories in fast forward.
We spend a ridiculous amount of time together, teaching, travelling, and somehow always stumbling into the fun kind of trouble. Add a few drinks, a good tanda, and a late-night plan that felt sensible at midnight, and you’ve basically got us. He’s loyal, fearless, and always up for one more adventure.
Ramiz Alizade is an Azerbaijani Argentine tango dancer, teacher, and TDJ, known for his warm, no-nonsense approach and a love of social dancing that always feels honest. Formerly known as Ramiz Aliyev, he has built his tango life across several scenes before making Tbilisi his home.
For many years, Ramiz was active in the United States, teaching and performing in Florida, including regular classes and private lessons in the Orlando area. He also spent significant time in Ohio, running workshops and bootcamps and becoming a familiar name to dancers in communities such as Columbus and the wider Cleveland area.
Now based in Tbilisi, Georgia, Ramiz is part of the city’s modern tango heartbeat, teaching, DJing, and performing with local and visiting partners. His dancing can be seen across a trail of performance videos filmed in Tbilisi, capturing everything from classic golden-age tandas to contemporary interpretations, always with an emphasis on connection and musical clarity.
In the local scene, he teaches at The Tango Academy with Ani Meskhi, and is also one of the hosts behind Milonga Corazoncito, co-hosting with DJ Samuel Mann and helping shape nights that focus on a great floor, great sound, and the kind of atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
